Posted Wed, Nov 26, 2003 - 8:45pm ET | Tour
Update: I now have some photos from this event from from Steven Mcilroy!

Tori took part in a special event at the Shaw Theatre in London, U.K. on Tuesday evening, November 18, 2003. It was billed as a "musically punctuated conversation" with music journalist Lucy O'Brien. It was basically a mini-concert along with some conversation. Click to see some photos of the event, as well as the set list and reviews.  [Click for details...]

Thanks to the many people who emailed me about this. You can see this at hitsdailydouble.com. This should be a close indicator of how Tori will debut on Billboard's U.S. album chart, since I think they get sales info from the same source.

New Dent Web Poll: What do you think of the remastered older songs on Tales Of A Librarian?
Posted Tue, Nov 25, 2003 - 3:12am ET | Opinion
It has been a week since the release of Tales Of A Librarian. I am now curious how people feel about this release. My new poll asks, "What do you think of the remastered older songs on Tales Of A Librarian?" Please choose only one option and vote only once. You can access the poll here..

My previous poll asked, "What do you think of the new version of the b-side "Mary" from Tales Of A Librarian?". You can see the results here.. Overall, Toriphiles seems very pleased with this re-recorded b-side!

See a photo of Tori from the Mona Lisa Smile soundtrack booklet; The soundtrack became available on Fri, Nov 21, 2003 in many locations!
Posted Sun, Nov 23, 2003 - 2:17am ET | Music
Update: I have added a scan of a photo of Tori that appears in the album booklet of the Mona Lisa Smile soundtrack. The photo shows how Tori will look in the movie itself. Check it out! Many thanks to Beth Nac mac Feegle for the scan.

We were told that the official release date for the Mona Lisa Smile soundtrack was Tuesday, November 25, 2003. However, I have received several reports that the album was released, at least in some locations, on Friday, November 21, 2003 instead! Amazon.com changed the release date to November 21, and now says the album is available and ships within 24 hours. I also have a report of the album being available at Barnes & Noble. While it seems odd for albums to be released in the U.S. on a Friday, they could be releasing it early because of the Thankgiving holiday nexy week. In any case, you might go looking for the album now if you really want it! You can read all the details about the Mona Lisa Smile soundtrack and some facts about the movie on the Dent's Mona Lisa Smile page, which also includes a photo of Tori from the movie!

More details about Tori's two upcoming signings at Tower Records in the U.S.
Posted Wed, Nov 19, 2003 - 5:58pm ET | Music
Updated: I earlier reported that Fanscape added to their news ring box information about two signings Tori will be doing for TOAL in the U.S.. I have now added details about BOTH signings:

  • The first is one is on Monday, November 24, 2003 at Tower Records Village store on 692 Broadway in New York City from 6:00pm - 8:00pm ET.

  • The second signing will be on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at Tower Records in Brea, CA which is located in Orange County, CA about 40 minutes from Los Angeles, CA and near Anaheim. The address is 220 S. Brea Blvd in Brea, CA. and the signing will be at 7:30pm PT. (The Fanscape newsring states that the signing will be at a Tower located at 220 South La Brea Blvd in Los Angeles, but in reality it is the Tower Records in Brea, CA. Thanks to the many people who pointed that out to me!)

Click the details link for more about both signings.   [Click for details...]

Tori's new album, Tales Of A Librarian, is now out in many places, including the U.S. and U.K.
    Posted Tue, Nov 18, 2003 - 12:17pm ET | Music
Tori's new album, Tales Of A Librarian, was released today (November 18, 2003) in the U.S. and Canada! I purchased my copy at Midnight and will be posting a small review shortly. The album was released yesterday, November 17, 2003, in the U.K. Reports seem to indicate that most U.K. stores had BOTH the DVD version and the version without the DVD. I am not sure why Amazon.co.uk still says the DVD version is delayed, unless the delay just involves them for some reason!

Reminder about some U.K. Tori events

You can now find 2 exclusive tracks you can access at the iTunes Music Store
    Posted Tue, Nov 18, 2003 - 11:42am ET | Music
The new tracks at the iTunes Music Store are Putting The Damage On (Reconditioned Version) and Pretty Good Year (Live from Sound Check). They also have all of Tales Of A Librarian to download. The catch with the new tracks however is the fact that you have to buy the entire album at $11.99 in order to hear the two tracks. The bonus tracks are not available at this time as individual downloads, which is unfortunate. (The other tracks from TOAL are available for individual downloads.) The iTunes Music Store has also added a special artist page for Tori that includes these downloads, as well as a small bio, and a selection of artists they label as influencers and Contemporaries. It is nice to see Tori getting so much attention there! If you need to find out more about the iTunes Music Store, which is available for Windows and Macintosh, or download the program, click here. If you have iTunes installed, click on this button to go directly to the Tori Amos artist page.

    Posted Tue, Nov 18, 2003 - 11:20am ET | Music

They have a little video of Tori talking about Tales Of A Librarian, a Tales From Tori section, a Music Collections section which includes streaming audio of the entire TOAL album as well as the Mary video. There is also a Photo Gallery and a Forum. (Some of the older ToriAmos.com content from her past tour is incorporated into the Photo Gallery and Tales From Tori sections. Lastly, they have a News section, and link to Tori Merchandise at feamerch.com. Be sure to check out the official site today!
