Glamour Magazine (U.K.) October 2001 Read an article and see really nice photos from Glamour Magazine in the U.K. Women Who Rock Fall 2001 There is a music magazine called Women Who Rock, which is apparently a joint venture of Guitar One and Rockrgrl magazines. Their Fall 2001 issue, the first, features the "100 Essential Women in Music" and has a blurb and a quote for each. The 100 women are listed in alphabetical order, so Tori is first. They print two photos of Tori throwing wine into the camera, which we have seen before in Revolver Magazine. Thanks to Simone, jérémie (a.k.a choirboy4pele) and Mike in Seattle for informing me! The Tori quote is: Should any part of my music offend you, please do not close your ears to it. Just take what you can use and go on. I'm a musician and a woman, I don't know which one comes first. The magazine says this about Tori:A conservatory-trained daughter of a Methodist preacher, Tori Amos has merged classical stylings, religious imagery, raw sexuality, and esoteric lyrics on her way to becoming an icon on her very own distinct musical planet. Her confessional, piano-laced balladry is both evocative and enrapturing. One of her most unforgettable songs, "Me and a Gun," recounts in high drama her triumph over rape, and her covers of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and the Rolling Stones' "Angie" have garnered enthusiastic cult followings. Q Magazine (U.K.) October 2001 Read a review of the Strange Little Girls album from Q Magazine CosmoGirl Magazine October 2001 Read a Tori interview from CosmoGirl Magazine Spin Magazine October 2001 Read an article on Tori that is in the October 2001 issue of Spin Magazine. It includes several photos, including the first public photo of Tori as her '97 Bonnie & Clyde character! Alternative Press (AP) Magazine October 2001 |
