Six live bootleg recordings are to be officially released by Tori this year!
Posted Mon, Aug 08, 2005 - 8:51pm ET | Music
A news item posted to Toriamos.com has announced some very exciting news! Toriamos.com states:
After years of paying top dollar for low quality bootlegs, Tori Amos diehards now have an alternative. Six live bootleg recordings are set to be released this fall. The first two releases are scheduled for an August 30th release, with four more due this fall. All six discs will be available exclusively at www.toribootlegs.com.

The news item goes on to say that each bootleg is a double-disc package with live rarities, fan favorites and cover versions. Each set was recorded live during Tori's "Original Sinsuality Tour". The first album features songs captured during Tori's April 15, 2005 concert at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, IL. The second album was recorded April 25, 2005 at Royce Hall Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA

You can pre-order both of these initial released NOW at toriamosbootlegs.com for $25. If you order by August 24, 2005, the CDs will be shipped so that they arrive by August 30, 2005.

There is an article about this also at Billboard.com. (Thanks Lanna!)

Toriamos.com will give away some Front Row Upgrades for the Summer of Sin Tour!
Posted Fri, Jul 29, 2005 - 6:10pm ET | Tour
Toriamos.com will be giving some Tori fans a chance to see Tori from the front row during her upcoming Summer Of Sin tour in North America. In order to be eligible to win front row ticket upgrades, you must be registered for the official Tori mailing list at Toriamos.com. These front row tickets will be upgrades, meaning that you must have already purchased your tickets at least one week prior to the show in order to be eligible. It also appears that only people in certain zip codes will have a chance for each show, because a explanation of the process that was sent to the mailing list states that the contest email notifications for each city will be sent according to zip codes. Therefore, make sure the zip code you entered when you signed up for the mailing list is correct. (Sign up again if you need to to make sure your zip code is correct.) Be on the look out for an email giving you specific directions to follow to enter for a chance to upgrade your tickets to front row seats. There are limited number of these upgrades, so enter as soon as you get the email from the mailing list.

Imogen Heap will definitely NOT be part of the Summer Of Sin Tour
Posted Wed, Jul 20, 2005 - 9:39pm ET | Tour
We earlier reported that Tori's support acts for the Summer Of Sin tour would be The Ditty Bops and Imogen Heap. We now know for sure that Imogen Heap will not be part of the tour. Imogen posted this fact in her iblog on July 20, 2005. (Thanks to Clint for letting me know.) Imogen writes:
Ok...you know that Tori tour...well...erm...it's not happening. I'm really sorry for anyone who's already bought tickets in the hope of catching me play. Some of you know I STILL haven't signed a licensing deal for the states yet (my goodness these things take time!) and it's now only 3 weeks until it would have kicked off. Also due to the exchange rate it's almost twice as expensive for a US label to fly me out as ususal and at the start of the album US campaign that is a lot of money gone... I am going to tour the States. YOU BET! I will make up for it. A little later in the year i'll be over there in some form or another and it'll make much more sense timing wise too. I hope you understand. I feel bad that i may have pissed off Tori too. I'm sure she'll understand. She's a Pro!

Therefore it appears that The Ditty Bops will be the only support act for Tori this summer, unless another one is quickly added in the next couple weeks.

There will be another presale for the Phoenix, AZ show begining on Friday, July 22, 2005 at 10:00AM at Ticketmaster.com. This one is from Downtown.net, and you have to be a member of that site in order to get the presale password.

New iTunes Essentials compilation available at the iTunes Music Store!
Posted Sat, Jul 16, 2005 - 9:00am ET | Music
imageCharity was the first to tell me about a new 45-song compilation that you can now buy at the iTunes Music Store, at least in the U.S. This compilation is called iTunes Essentials and simply combines 45 Tori tracks together. (None of the tracks are new by the way!) The cost is $44.55, which is the same cost that it would be if you downloaded each song individually, but you do get the convenience of getting all the songs at once. It would make a great introduction to give to a new Tori fan! You can see the cover to the right.
