Amazon.com updates their Welcome To Sunny Florida listings to include cover art
Posted Fri, Apr 30, 2004 - 9:13pm ET | Music
I reported earlier that Amazon.com has two listings for Tori's upcoming DVD/CD Welcome To Sunny Florida. They have just added the cover art to those listings, and it is the same cover I reported on earlier. I also reported that the new release would be available in DVD packaging (amaray box) or CD packaging (jewel case). The artwork photos on the Amazon.com listings now make it apparent which listing is for which packaging.

Click here to see the Amazon.com listing for Welcome To Sunny Florida in DVD packaging (amaray box)

Click here to see the Amazon.com listing for Welcome To Sunny Florida in CD packaging (jewel box)

You can now pre-order either version from Amazon.com. I have added this to my Welcome To Sunny Florida Page. (Thanks to Jim for the news!) With the posting of this cover art, this should put to rest the questions I have been getting about the Welcome To Sunny Florida cover art posted to Amazon.fr in France. I am almost certain that is NOT the correct cover art!

The U.S. release date for 'Welcome To Sunny Florida' is still May 18, 2004!
Posted Thu, Apr 29, 2004 - 8:42pm ET | Music
I just received word from a very reliable source that the U.S. release date for Welcome To Sunny Florida is still May 18, 2004. The May 25th release date listed at Amazon.com is incorrect and has since been corrected!

Welcome To Sunny Florida News: Release date in France and pre-order in Germany
Posted Thu, Apr 29, 2004 - 1:40am ET | Music
Tristan and Jeremy tell me that you can pre-order Welcome To Sunny Florida in France at Amazon.fr or fnac.com. Both of those sites list May 24, 2004 as the release date in France. Amazon.fr also has a photo of the cover that is different from what we have seen. I tend to think that the cover they have is made up and will NOT be the cover!

Toriphiles in Germany can now pre-order Welcome To Sunny Florida at www.bol.de

Tori 2005 RAINN Calendar promotion
Posted Tue, Apr 27, 2004 - 4:01am ET | RAINN
As reported earlier on the Dent, you can pre-order the beautiful new 2005 RAINN Calendar at rainn.org. They now have a great promotion with the sale of these calendars. Tori Amos has agreed to sign 10 of the calendars, and they will be given to 10 lucky people who pre-order. So whoever orders the 2005 RAINN Calendar before August 1, 2004 will be entered into a drawing to win one of the 10 signed calendars. To be eligible for the drawing, your order must be received by August 1, 2004 which is less expensive anyway because of the pre-order price! To order, go to rainn.org. Once the order is placed, you will automatically be entered in the drawing, so there is no extra paperwork or cost involved. This also applies to people who have already pre-ordered the calendar, so they do not have to place another order.

Toriphoria - The World of Tori Amos
Posted Sat, Apr 24, 2004 - 2:45pm ET | Opinion
The Dent would like to strongly recommend the Tori Amos web site called Toriphoria, which is located at yessaid.com. This is truly one of the greatest and most useful Tori web sites online. There are so many interesting sections to this web site you might find yourself there all day. You can find quotes from Tori about most anything in the Philosophy section. There is a lyric and interview archive, image gallery, a list of books that Tori has mentioned in the past, insights and stories, a wonderful Tori Amos timeline, a Tori stories section with even more quotes, and an albums section that includes quotes from Tori about the album or various songs on it. If you have not seen this site, I strongly urge you to bookmark it and make it one of the sites you visit often!

Posted Thu, Apr 22, 2004 - 11:59pm ET | Articles
Hayley sent me an older article on Tori that appeared in The Berkeley Beacon back on November 21, 2002. This is the independent student newspaper of Emerson College in Boston, MA. Also around this same time, Tori visited the college radio station WERS 88.9 FM. Triple J Radio in Australia to replay an archived interview Richard Kingsmill did with Tori in 1998
Posted Thu, Apr 22, 2004 - 11:39pm ET | TVRadio
Thanks to Astred for telling me about this. On Tuesday, April 27, 2004, Triple J Radio in Australia will play an archived interview conducted by Richard Kingsmill in 1998. The interview will be heard during the "Mel in the Morning" show sometime between 9:00am - 12:00pm Australian time. The interview will be played during a segment of the show called "The Reel". This interview was original a J-Files Special that was broadcast on July 16, 1998 and is quite interesting for many reasons. (Tori gives the interviewer an ear full!) You can find a transcript of the interview in the Dent's TV/Radio Archive. Triple J is broadcast live on the internet, and you can access the live feed here

News about Tori's Official site
Posted Thu, Apr 22, 2004 - 7:00am ET | Music
I have official word about some changes coming to Tori's official site at toriamos.com. First of all, the Merchadise page/section is being redeveloped and will be back up in a couple of weeks. The entire site will be revamped for the DVD release on May 18, 2004. There are several interesting things coming, and those updating the site ask you to bear with them during this building process.

Update: At the moment, toriamos.com points to the TOAL site hosted by Atlantic while toriamosmusic.com currently shows the old Scarlet's Walk site on Epic. Eventually, toriamos.com will point to Epic servers again and be the sole site to visit where you will be able to access everything, while toriamosmusic.com will cease to exist and nothing will be on left on Atlantic servers.
