Posted Fri, Jun 04, 2004 - 2:43am ET | Music
I have some Tori chart news! Several Toriphiles, including Josep Marti Pujolar Castanyer, Michael Pettitt and Pete, tell me that Welcome To Sunny Florida has debuted at #1 on the U.K. Music DVD and Video chart for the week of May 30, 2004. This chart is compiled by The Official UK Charts Company, and you can see it at bbc.co.uk.

Ryan Hardy tells me that Welcome To Sunny Florida debuted on the U.S. Billboard Music Video Chart at #2 for the week of June 5, 2004. It then fell to #9 in its second week on the June 12, 2004 Music Video Chart.

It looks like Tori will be recording a new album this summer!
Posted Fri, Jun 04, 2004 - 2:23am ET | Music
There is a small Tori mention at Mattchamberlain.com where Tori's drummer says he will be recording with Tori for about a month around July 2004. While it is not clear what this is, I would say it is a recording session for a new Tori album that we should see sometime in 2005. Stay tuned! Thanks to Ellen for being the first to tell me about this.

Status Of The Dent
Posted Tue, Jun 01, 2004 - 4:35pm ET | Miscellaneous
On Sunday night, May 30th, a series of very severe storms went through the Louisville, KY area. The winds were extremely strong and caused a huge number of trees to fall destroying power lines in the process. As a result, my area of town has lost power and they do not expect to restore power for several more days at least. Therefore, my updates to The Dent may be infrequent as I deal with this, and as I am able to get access to the web elsewhere. Thanks for your patience as I work through all this. All will be back to normal soon I hope!

The editing of Professional Widow on WTSF
Posted Fri, May 21, 2004 - 12:17pm ET | Music
I have received several emails from fans asking about the editing out of certain words during Tori's performance of Professional Widow on Welcome To Sunny Florida. They have asked me why this was done. I do not have the answers to that. It appears to be a decision made by her label due to the fact that DVDs are rated like films and they did not want to limit the audience for the release. As far as I know, all the copies are "clean" and there are no unedited versions for sale. I personally do not feel that it hurts the quality of the release, and I do not agree that it ruins the release, as some of the reviews I have gotten have stated. It was likely a carefully thought out business decision. Not everything "objectionable" was taken out of the DVD, and it is still a wonderful product. That is my personal feeling about it, although I know there are some who feel otherwise.

I am leaving on vacation to Asheville, NC!
Posted Sat, May 15, 2004 - 1:29pm ET | Miscellaneous
I leave this morning (Saturday, May 15th) with my girlfriend Amanda for a much needed vacation in Asheville, NC and the Blue Ridge Mountains. I will not return from vacation until Tuesday, May 25, 2004. I am taking my laptop and plan to update The Dent as time allows. I realize that this is not the best time to be away, with Tori releasing her new DVD Welcome To Sunny Florida next week. I will do my best to make sure major news items are posted to The Dent.

Remember that Tori's new DVD/CD comes out in the U.S. and Canada on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 and in Europe on Monday, May 24, 2004. You can read all about the release on The Dent's Welcome To Sunny Florida Page. I have just been told by people who have had an advanced look at the DVD that I can be seen quickly in the background at one point. (I was at that West Palm Beach, FL show.) I was quite surprised to hear that! Enjoy the new release, and I will update the Dent as often as I can while I am gone.

Exciting details about the newly designed Tori Store!
Posted Wed, May 12, 2004 - 12:22am ET | Merchandise
I earlier reported on the newly designed Tori Store that you can reach via a link at toriamos.com, or directly at store.tbentgroup.com. It is designed really well and is a place you should check out as soon as you can. I have just been informed by an official source that the store is currently having a sale as a way to welcome back Tori fans. The Tori Store will continue to have a different sale each month with some more specific sales running at special times of the year. They will also have some very rare offers available in the coming months, so everybody should keep checking the site!
