You can listen to a small message from Tori and 'Sleeps With Butterflies' at Fanscape.com
Posted Wed, Jan 26, 2005 - 3:38am ET | Music
If you go to fanscape.com, and then click on the Tori banner on the right of the page, you will be able to hear a short recorded message from Tori as well as her single Sleeps With Butterflies. Tori basically mentions the Special Edition version of The Beekeeper and confirms that her tour begins on April 1, 2005! Sadly, I was unable to get this message to play on a Macintosh... Thanks to Kendra, Beverly, Angela (ShiseidoRed) and Jason (yessaid) for telling me about this. If you have a Mac and can not hear Tori's message, click the details link and you can see a transcript of what Tori says.  [Click for details...]

Promotional materials being sent out for The Beekeeper
Posted Tue, Jan 25, 2005 - 5:40am ET | Music
I have been shown two very nice promotional items that are being sent out by Epic to retail outlets for Tori's upcoming new album The Beekeeper. The first is a 2'X2' double-sided poster. One side shows one of the promotional photos we have already seen for The Beekeeper, while the other side shows 7 more photos, likely from the album, placed inside hexagons. You can see side one here and side two here. The second promotional item is a 12X18 inch artist flat with perforation. One side shows the album cover and the other side lists some of the songs and includes a small blurb and photo about Tori's book Piece By Piece. Click here to see both sides of this promo flat.

Tori called 'The Queen of All Media' by Entertainment Weekly magazine
Posted Tue, Jan 25, 2005 - 4:48am ET | Articles
Angela & Jason tell me that the January 21, 2005 issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine calls Tori Amos "The Queen of All Media". The Calendar section in the magazine mentions that on February 22, "Tori Amos' new album, The Beekeeper, is released just 14 days after his first book, Tori Amos: Piece by Piece."

Toriphiles in The Netherlands can pre-order The Beekeeper (Special Edition) from bol.com!
Posted Tue, Jan 25, 2005 - 4:21am ET | Music
Hirja informs me that Tori fans in The Netherlands can pre-order the Special Edition version of The Beekeeper from The Netherlands section of www.bol.com! You can find the precise listing here. The listing seems to indicate that the album will be released in Holland on Friday, February 18, 2005. I recall from previous years that Toriphiles in the Netherlands would get Tori's new album the Friday before everyone else, so this is likely correct! I have added this information to The Dent's Beekeeper Page

Sony Music Australia web site seems to indicate that the Beekeeper Special Edition will be released in Australia; New Tori photo!
Posted Sat, Jan 22, 2005 - 1:40pm ET | Music
Daniel Nolan has pointed out to me a news item about Tori's new album The Beekeeper at the Sony Music Australia web site. Most of the information covers details we already know about, but the article does seem to indicate that the Special Edition version of The Beekeeper will be available in Australia as well as the regular version of the album. The article does not mention the seed packet that we know will be in the U.S. version, so we do not know if that will be part of the Special Edition overseas. (Certain laws regarding exporting things like seeds may prevent them from appearing in the overseas versions.) If you continue to look around the Sony Music Australia web site, you can find their artist page for Tori which includes a gallery of photos. One of these photos is the new Beekeeper photo! (Click the details link to see the photo![Click for details...]

Pointless "review" of the Beekeeper from Stuff Magazine
Posted Wed, Jan 12, 2005 - 2:52am ET | Articles
A.Bilal told me about a review of The Beekeeper that appears in the February 2005 issue of Stuff Magazine. ( I am not sure if this is the Stuff Magazine from the U.S. or the U.K.) I use the word "review" loosely. They give the album only 2 stars, but then do not really say why, and just give a checklist of facts about the album and one negative comment. Not anything really informative, but I wanted to report it for completeness sake.   [Click for details...]
