Little Blue World Seeks Staff Writers
Posted Fri, Feb 24, 2006 - 12:56am ET | Toriphiles
little-blue-world.org is seeking motivated, resourceful writers for regular publication in its quarterly Tori Amos fanzine. Staff writers are expected to collaborate in brainstorming issue content via e-mail and to contribute three or four articles a year. Articles may be specific assignments or self-selected, depending on the demands of a particular issue. All of Little Blue World's staff is volunteer. Staff writers receive one complementary copy of each issue in which their writing appears.

Interested individuals are invited to submit three writing samples (need not be relevant to Tori Amos) along with cover telling a little bit about themselves to editor@little-blue-world.org While Little Blue World only needs two or three regular writers at this time, we also always welcome reader contributions. Those who would like to contribute but do not feel a steady time commitment is appropriate for them are invited to submit Tori related articles to stories@little-blue-world.org

Please keep artist Jeffrey Fulvimari in your thoughts
Posted Fri, Feb 24, 2006 - 12:53am ET | Miscellaneous
Many of you may remember artist Jeffrey Fulvimari, who created the stickers that were in the Limited Edition version of Scarlet's Walk, and who also did some other work for Tori around that time. Several readers informed me that he was recently attacked by 3 thugs in New York outside a nightclub and suffered multiple skull fractures, including a broken eye socket. This news appeared at nydailynews.com and other sources. Please keep him in your thoughts as he heals.

On Sunday evening, February 19, 2006 during the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, U.S. ice dancing pair Jamie Silverstein and Ryan O'Meara skated in part to Sweet The Sting during the Original Dance portion of the Ice Dancing competition. They basically used the very beginning and end of the song. Silverstein & O'Meara finished 16th in the original dance, which places them in 17th place overall. The ice dancing event concludes with the Free Dance on Monday, February 20, 2006. You can find out more about this pair at figureskatersonline.com, where you can also find out the other two songs they ice danced to in addition to Sweet The Sting. Many thanks to Alisha Parker for first telling me about this, and also to Alessandra, Adrienne, Jeff Lilliquist, and Melissa C

A remastered version of "Doughnut Song" can be heard on the Fade To Red DVD!
Posted Sat, Feb 18, 2006 - 7:58am ET | Music
Angela/Shiseido and jason/yessaid report something really interesting about the Fade To Red DVD. During the credits you can hear a remastered version of Doughnut Song, which apparently was supposed to be a bonus track on the Tales Of A Librarian collection but did not make it for one reason or another. You can find an audio clip of this at Toriphorums (you must be a registered member of the board) or on the Rarities page at yessaid.com. Interesting!

Tori will be featured on the show 'Left Of Sessions' on SIRIUS Satellite Radio
Posted Sat, Feb 11, 2006 - 1:03am ET | TVRadio
Brandy Jones was the first to inform me that Tori will be featured on the show Left Of Sessions on SIRIUS Satellite Radio. The show will be broadcast first on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 9:00pm ET. This same show will be rebroadcast on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 1:00am ET and on Friday, February 17, 2006 at 1:00pm ET. Left of Sessions is your chance to hear performances from your favorite Left of Center artists recorded live in Sirius Studios. You can see a listing for this at sirius.com. I am not sure if this is something new or a repeat of the 'Behind The Beekeeper: Words and Music with Tori Amos' show that first broadcast on SIRIUS back on March 10, 2005. This could also be the 'Fade To Red' radio show from Rhino that The Dent has recently reported on.

Tori is the #1 "melancholy winter essential" on iTunes
Posted Sun, Feb 05, 2006 - 6:55pm ET | Music
Thanks to Nadyne for sharing this information with The Dent. Tori was featured on the 'iTunes New Music Tuesday' podcast for 17 January 2006. You can see the whole melancholy winter essential mix by going to the iTunes Music Store, clicking on "Essentials" in the left column, then "My Groove", then "P-T," then finally "Melancholy Winter" (but not "Melancholy Mix"). There are 25 songs in this mix, including lots of other artists that Toriphiles tend to like: Sarah McLachlan, Cowboy Junkies, Kate Bush, and Bjork.
