Tori will be performing solo during her upcoming European tour!
Posted Sat, Mar 05, 2005 - 11:23pm ET | Tour
We already know that Tori has plans to tour Europe later this year after her solo U.S. tour. What was not 100% evident was whether she would be solo or with the band. Some people at the recent CD signing in The Netherlands asked Tori, and she told them she would be solo. So it looks like the European tour will feature Tori solo on stage, at least for most of the shows. (I get a few scattered reports of Tori maybe doing some European festival dates with the band, but I can not say how valid those reports are yet.)

I am also getting a lot of email from U.K. fans asking me why there are no U.K. dates on the tour schedule yet. Please be aware that the European section of The Dent's Original Sinsuality Tour Page is not complete. There will be many more dates announced than the few that are on there now. I am sure there will be some new U.K. dates. I also have a report from someone who recently saw Tori on an Irish TV chat show where she said that there would be a tour date in Dublin as well. (No details on that one yet!) The complete list of European concert dates has not been officially announced yet...

Details about Tori's interview on the morning show Arbeidsvitaminen on Radio 3FM in The Netherlands
Posted Sat, Mar 05, 2005 - 2:12pm ET | TVRadio
On Friday, March 4, 2005, Tori went to Radio 3FM in Hilversum, The Netherlands and was interviewed on the morning radio show Arbeidsvitaminen. You can see a photo of Tori with DJ Gerard who interviewed her at the Radio 3FM web site. For about a week, you can also listen to the interview online at www.3fm.nl. Once at the web site, find the menu on the left. Under "3fm on air" click on "uitzending gemist?" Then pick "Arbeidsvitaminen" (4th section) and choose Friday (which is vrijdag.) Realplayer starts up and starts playing the 3 hour broadcast. You can scroll to 2hrs 09mins where the Tori part begins. Here is a direct link that hopefully will immediately bring up the Realplayer audio stream. It was a fun interview! If anyone has a written transcription of the interview, please send it to The Dent. Thanks to Remco, Alexandra Ekkelenkamp, and choirboy87 for the details.

Posted Fri, Mar 04, 2005 - 2:17am ET | Music
I earlier announced that Tori's The Beekeeper debuted at #5 on The Billboard 200 album chart in the U.S. for the week of March 12, 2005. In addition to that, The Beekeeper is also #1 on Billboard's Top Internet Albums chart for March 12. 2005. (This is not surprising since the album has been #1 on iTunes for over a week now.) Congratulations to Tori on her chart success! Thanks to Ivan for pointing this out to us.

musictoday.com now has listings for the remaining 5 shows on Tori's April 2005 U.S. solo tour. (Those shows are Clearwater, Orlando, Washington DC, Hartford and Boston. More details about Tori's performance at Viktor and Rolf's fashion show in Paris, France! Reports/Photos from Style.com, news.yahoo.com and The Independent
Posted Thu, Mar 03, 2005 - 10:20am ET | Articles
UPDATED: On Wednesday, March 2, 2005, Tori made an appearance and performed in Paris, France at Dutch designers Viktor and Rolf's Fall Winter 2005-06 ready-to-wear fashion collection. I don't think Tori actually walked the runway, but she did play at the piano while other models walked. Style.com reports that she premiered "a specially commissioned 15-minute composition set to the biblical words of the Song of Solomon. 'I sleep walked, my heart waketh,' she sang, dramatically..." Style.com also has two photos of Tori at the event, which are here and here. You can also see photos of Tori at this event at news.yahoo.com. The best are here, here, here and here. In addition, you can find several photos from this event at gettyimages.com. (Although you have to be a member to see them full-sized.) Thanks to the many people who told me about this, including Nicole Basurto, Trent, Eric Antos, Nexsub and Paul Cole. Lastly, you can read an article about Tori's appearance at this show from The Independent newspaper in the U.K. This story appears in the March 3, 2005 edition.  [Click for details...]

Posted Wed, Mar 02, 2005 - 11:56pm ET | TVRadio
Here are two promotional stops that Tori will be making in The Netherlands on March 3 and 4, 2005!

On Thursday, March 3, 2005, Tori will sign CDs at a big Dutch department store called The Bijenkorf (which literally means: 'The Bee Hive'!) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands from 7:00-8:30 pm. This is confirmed online at bijenkorf.nl. Attendance is limited to the first 100 people.

On Friday, March 4, 2005, Tori will be at Radio 3FM in Hilversum, The Netherlands. Tori will first appear on the show Arbeidsvitaminen in the morning (between 10am and 12am local time) for an interview. Later that afternoon after 3:00pm, she will perform a mini-concert for a show called That Live that will be broadcast later by Radio 3FM on Sunday, March 27, 2005 between 6 and 8 pm. The mini-concert will likely include Tori playing 4 songs as well as a Q&A. The recording is not open to the public. The only people who will be there are some lucky contest winners! We should be able to listen to this performance online when That Live is broadcast on March 27, 2005. You can find out more details (and read about the contest that is now over) at 3fm.nl and bnn.nl (These are Dutch websites). Thanks to Arjan Welles, Kris Claerhout, Remco de Ruig, Gorter Bouwprodukten and Richard for emailing me about this.

Tori appeared on the Album Chart Show on BBC Radio 2 in the U.K. on ;You can listen now online!

Tori was interviewed by DJ Simon Mayo on the Album Chart Show on BBC Radio 2 in the U.K. on Monday, February 28, 2005. The interview can be heard between the songs Sleeps With Butterflies and The Power Of Orange Knickers. You can listen to this show until Monday, March 7, 2005, when it will be replaced by the next week's show. Go here and click on the button saying "Listen again to this show." Tori talks about the Beekeeping/Garden symbolism and the importance of power-under-dressing in a nice relaxed interview. Thanks to Pete Lambert, Danny Weddup, BarbaraKirk and Peter Hockett for telling me about this.

The Beekeeper will debut at #5 on The Billboard 200 album chart!
Posted Wed, Mar 02, 2005 - 10:28pm ET | Music

Several people emailed me with the good news that Tori's The Beekeeper will actually debut at #5 on The Billboard 200 album chart for the week of March 12, 2005! This reflects first week sales of 83,000 copies. This is revealed by an article posted at Billboard.com. (Forget what I reported earlier when I referred to hitsdailydouble.com. That sales chart does not fully factor in all the things that the official Billboard charts do.) This is Tori's fifth Top 10 debut, which is great! Here are all of Tori's albums and where they peaked on The Billboard 200 album chart. Keep in mind that despite the low peak position of Little Earthqukes, it is Tori's biggest selling album!
