Tori article at popmatters.com
You can read a Tori article called Notes Of A Former Tori Amos Freak, which was posted to popmatters.com on March 30, 2005. It is also a review of The Beekeeper. While I do not agree with the reviewer, I think the article is thoughtful and interesting nonetheless. Thanks to Linda and Matt Hollis for alerting me to the article. European Tour news
I have made some changes to The Dent's Original Sinsuality Tour Page concerning the European tour. They are:
More evidence that 'Original Sinsuality' could be a new commercial single in the U.K.
I earlier reported that the Teletext service on Channel 4 in the U.K. had stated that Original Sinsuality would be released as a Beekeeper single in the U.K. on May 30, 2005 to coincide with the start of Tori's European tour. Ryan now points out to me that the U.K. online vendor MusicMen now has a listing for an Original Sinsuality single coming out on May 30, 2005. This would seem to confirm that report. The April 4, 2005 issue of New York Magazine contains a rather negative and bizarre article about Tori. The author interviewed Tori about her new album The Beekeeper, but rather than really report on the details of that interview, the author mainly talks about how she fell out of love with Tori over the years. The Dent is now 9 years old!
Last Friday, March 25, 2005, marked the Dent's 9th anniversary of bringing you the latest Tori news! The Dent began on March 25, 1996. I have reported on the release of 7 new albums and have brought you the set lists and reviews from 5 tours (and about to start reporting on a 6th!). It has been an exciting 9 years, and things are just as fun for me as I begin my 10th year of informing the Tori Internet community. Thanks for all the support you have shown this web site over the last 9 years. I could not have gotten this far without it. Happy Birthday to The Dent! Exciting new tour info from the Little Blue World fanzine!
I received the following news item from the Little Blue World fanzine:The Tori fanzine Little Blue World talked to Tori this morning (March 29, 2005) as she was on her way to meet with the tour crew for the first time before they go on the road. She told them there would be two separate keyboard stations on the stage for this tour, one with the Bosey and a Hammond organ and the other with the Rhodes electric piano and another Hammond. She also said that in the tradition of "secret time" and "Scarlet's Bar" on earlier tours, there will be a break in the middle of the shows with "Tori's Piano Bar," when she will be performing covers like she used to when she played in bars as a teenager. Her website will have a special setup for this tour so that fans can send in requests for the piano bar before each show. She said to start thinking about what new covers you'd like to hear her perform! The film 'Mayor Of Sunset Strip' being shown on Showtime in the U.S.
Several times in April 2005 (and possible later in the year), you will be able to see the film Mayor Of Sunset Strip on the Showtime network in the U.S. (Check your TV listings for exact times.) The film is a documentary about LA scenemaker and DJ Rodney Bingenheimer. It contains some very brief Tori footage. (Tori was interviewed for the film, but they do not show any of the interview.) You can read more about this film here. Tori will be featured on the radio show 'Rock et cetera' on German 'Deutschlandradio' on April 4, 2005
Katja (soundscape) informs us that Tori will be featured on the radio show Rock et cetera on German 'Deutschlandradio' on Monday, April 4, 2005 from 10:05PM to 10:50PM CET. We do not know exactly what this will be, only that Tori will be featured in some way. You can listen to this radio station live on the Internet using various audio feeds available at www.dradio.de. Radio 3FM in The Netherlands broadcast Tori's performance for 'That's Live'
On Friday afternoon, March 4, 2005, Tori was at Radio 3FM in Hilversum, The Netherlands and performed a mini-concert for a show called That's Live that Radio 3FM broadcast on Sunday, March 27, 2005. Tori was briefly interviewed, took some questions and performed 4 songs. The Power of Orange Knickers was mentioned as the next single, but I am not sure how reliable that is. Here is a direct link to an audio stream of the show that will be available for about a week online. The first segment starts at 34:49 and includes an introduction, "Sleeps With Butterflies" and "Leather". The second segment starts at 1:11 and is a five question self-quiz which includes an improv about the program. The final segment starts at 1:38, beginning with some audience questions and including "The Power Of Orange Knickers" and "Winter". Click the details link below to find details from the taping, the songs Tori performed, and a photo from the taping of this radio show. [Click for details...]Tori interviewed on Gary Crowley's radio show on BBC London on March 26, 2005
Jim McColm informs me that on Saturday, March 26, 2005, Tori was interviewed on Gary Crowley's radio show on BBC London. For the next week or so, you can listen to this show online at www.bbc.co.uk. Click the link and then click on 'Listen' next to Gary's photo. Summary: Chart debut/peak positions for 'The Beekeeper' from around the world

Tori interview from the Irish magazine Hot Press
An interview with Tori appears in the April 2005 issue of the Irish magazine Hot Press. It is a very interesting interview and highly recommended. Click to read it! [Click for details...]A little uncertainty over Tori's upcoming European tour dates
You can find the upcoming European tour dates for summer 2005 on The Dent's Original Sinsuality Tour Page. These dates were first revealed at the web site for Tom McRae, who is opening for Tori during the European leg. Many of these dates, although not all, are also listed now at Pollstar.com. A few days ago, toriamos.com listed most of these dates as well (except the Glastonbury Festival), making them official. However, several Toriphiles have pointed out to me that the Italian tour dates have been removed from toriamos.com, which is true. I am not sure why this is the case. It most likely means the dates are not finalized and they want to wait until they are. It could also mean there will be some changes to the tour schedule during that time. We will have to wait and see. I can tell you though that Tori's July 8, 2005 date in Naples, Italy at the Neapolis Festival has been confirmed online at neapolis.it. (Thanks Richard Galbraith!) We will have to wait and see what happens. Dates not officially confirmed are marked as such on my Original Sinsuality Tour Page. Help support Lisa Gualdoni's jump for Operation Freefall
On April 30, 2005, Toriphile Lisa Gualdoni will be taking part in Operation Freefall 2005. Operation Freefall is the boldest, highest-altitude and most daring event organized to put an end to sexual assault. At dozens of airstrips across the country thousands of people will take to the sky, jump, and then float gently back to earth. This year's fifth annual Operation Freefall, which culminates National Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month, is expected to be the largest yet, with about 2,000 jumpers across the nation. Lisa Gualdoni is hoping to raise $1000 before April 1, 2005. Her funds will be donated to Speaking Out About Rape (SOAR) and the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN). If you would like to sponsor Lisa and help her meet goal, check out Lisa's Freefall Page. She has almost reached her goal, and you can push her over the top! Tori is featured at Live @ Launch; Read the transcript
If you go to the Live @ Launch page at music.yahoo.com, you will be able to listen to an interview with Tori and a live performance of Sleeps With Butterflies and Parasol. daneypops emailed me with this news. He says that the Teletext service on Channel 4 in the U.K. reports that Original Sinsuality would be released as a single in the U.K. on May 30, 2005 to coincide with the start of Tori's European tour. I really am surprised at this and have to wonder if it is really true, but there you go! I am not sure if this means a "commercial single" that you can buy in a store or just a radio single. Stay tuned for more info as we get it!
