The Dent has just received the official U.K. press release for Tori's upcoming DVD/CD release Welcome To Sunny Florida. It reveals the following new facts about the release:

  • There will be special pre-release screenings of the concert footage of the DVD at 5 Odeon Cinemas across the U.K. on Monday May 17, 2004!
  • The European release date for Welcome To Sunny Florida has been pushed back to May 24, 2004. This was done to make sure there are no issues with availability. The U.S. release date however is still May 18, 2004.
  • A live audio version of Past The Mission is used as background music for a Tour Yearbook of candid photos, which is one of the DVD extras.

TORI AMOS TO RELEASE LIVE DVD - "WELCOME TO SUNNY FLORIDA

INCLUDES BONUS CD OF SIX PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED SONGS -"SCARLET'S HIDDEN TREASURES"

Concert to be Screened at 5 Odeon Cinemas across the UK on Tuesday May 17th...

On May 24th 2004, critically acclaimed songstress Tori Amos will release her first commercially available live concert DVD, Welcome To Sunny Florida. The eighteen song show was recorded on September 4, 2003 at Sound Advice Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida. A six song bonus CD of previously unreleased songs, Scarlet's Hidden Treasures, is included, making this a must -have for all Tori fans !!

Here's what the U.S. press have said about Tori's performances when touring in support of Scarlet's Walk:

"...her music isn't driven by anything so predictable as a beat. The tempo varies from one line to the next; each phrase is a new gust wind,
pushing the song forward while changing it's momentum."
-New York Times

"...fans quietly paid respect to the goddess of ethereal emotional angst who could - and did - jar wispy musical moments into hard epic action at the drop of a hat."
-Philadelphia Inquirer

"Her singing...was typically powerhouse, shifting easily from operatic to breathily intimate... Amos was at times positively voracious, writing on the
bench and rocking to the sensual flow of new songs and older material."
-Los Angeles Times
