Radio Interview On The Edge (Detroit)
July 21, 1998
    There was a radio interview with Tori on The Edge (105.1) in Detroit, MI back on July 21, 1998. The interview was over the phone and took place just a few days before Tori arrived for her main Plugged '98 show in Detroit. Toriphile Chris (Pitipur) made me aware that the interview is available on The Edge Web Site in RealAudio. You can also read a transcript of the interview in my TV/Radio Archive. MuchMusic Spotlight & 1998 Live Interview
July 23 & 25, 1998

    The cable music channels Muchmusic in Canada and MuchUSA featured a couple of Tori specials in late July. They aired a new MuchMusic Spotlight featuring Tori on July 23, 1998. Spotlight is a half hour show with videos of the featured artist as well as interviews. They played videos for Crucify, Cornflake Girl (Euro version), Caught A Lite Sneeze, and Spark. (The issued a viewers discretion warning before Spark!) They also showed interview clips from 1992, 1994, 1995, and 1996.

    On Saturday, July 25, 1998, Tori made a visit to the Muchmusic studios in Toronto for a live interview that was broadcast on Muchmusic and MuchUSA (even though Tori was sick at the time.) Brian who maintains the wonderful ToriLand web site says you can find a transcript for the interview at the MuchMusic Web Site, as well as a more nicely formatted one at ToriLand.


Late Show With David Letterman
July 27, 1998

JJJ Radio J-Files Special (Australia)
July 16, 1998
    Toriphiles Heidi & Nathan sent me a transcript of an interview between Tori and Richard Kingsmill which aired on JJJ radio in Australia on July 16 1998 from 10pm-1am. This was a three hour special on Tori, looking at her work over the years, and included several rarities. The interview was very unique indeed, and Tori seemed to truly frustrate the reviewer. Read it in my TV/Radio Section and check for yourself!


ABC Independence Day Concert
July 4, 1998
    On June 27, 1998, Tori performed at the Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. You can still read reviews and a set list for this concert here. On July 4th, ABC in the U.S. showed a special Independence Day concert that featured several of the acts from that U.K. Festival, including Tori. They showed Tori singing Precious Things and Crucify. This was likely the same footage that the BBC showed on British TV. I now have a page with more details about the ABC broadcast, and several wonderful photos from the concert sent to me by Toriphile Xenotrope (who went to a lot of trouble to make these for me and who I thank profusely.)

"Shirley and Tori" on Canvas Television (Belgium)
July 1, 1998
    On July 1, 1998, Tori was featured on a TV show in Belgium called "Shirley and Tori" which appeared on Canvas Television. The first part of the special was about Shirley Manson of Garbage, and the rest was on Tori. They showed interview clips and footage of Tori performing at Pinkpop '98. Thanks to Toriphiles Nele Gielen and Hendrik Jan, I have a complete transcript of the the Tori part of the interview.
