More Details

Keep in mind I only place on The Dent a small selection of sightings I receive, due to space and time constraints...

Satellite HDTV network called Voom

Joseph J. Finn reports:
Browsing through channels, I ran across Tori playing on an infomercial for a satellite HDTV network called Voom (, with a voiceover from the cinematographer from Soundstage who had filmed her concert talking about how good his filming looks in HD. (The song she was playing was Cornflake Girl).

Student-run dance troop Neoteric Dance Collaborative performs to Tori

Mikewhy reports:
The New Hampshire, the student publication of The University of New Hampshire, published a story called "Student-run dance troop starts strong" by Cara Splisbury on December 10, 2004. This article describes a modern dance company at the University called the Neoteric Dance Collaborative which was started by theatre major Sarah Duclos. You can read the entire article at but at one point the article states that "The dancers perform to the melodic voice of Tori Amos backed by a rhythm and techno beat, a sound you wouldn't expect in a ballet."

Alanis Morissette interview a

Mikewhy reports:
An interview with Alanis Morissette was posted to on December 11, 2004 where she mentions Tori Amos. This is an Indian web site and Alanis was in Mumbai, India for the 2004 MTV Immies Awards on December 10, 2004. Here is the part of the interview where Tori is mentioned:
And which are the female singers who've inspired you most, besides Jane Sibery and Annie Lennox?

Lots of them. Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston at one point, Carole King, Sinead O'Connor, Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell.

Many people have compared you with Tori Amos and Sinead O'Connor. Would you agree with them?

We all sing with a lot of courage. There's a certain anger in our songs. There is also a similarity in our tones. So in that sense, the comparisons are justified.
