U.K. TV Show 'Stars In Their Eyes'
April 29, 2000
On Saturday, April 29, 2000, the U.K. TV Show "Stars In Their Eyes" on the 'ITV' channel broadcast an episode that included a Tori impersonator. "Stars In Their Eyes" features members of the public who dress up and perform as their favourite artist. This was the first time in the show's history when someone did Tori, and the reports from Toriphiles in the U.K. say that the impersonator was quite bad!

VH1 Germany Greatest Hits
April 6 and 7, 2000
VH1 Germany broadcast a Tori Amos episode on a show called Greatest Hits on Thursday, April 6, 2000 and again on Friday, April 7, 2000. This program was repeated again later on December 14, 15, & 16, 2000.

Toriphile Christina Holly has kindly sent me a summary of the program which you can read below:

So I finally watched Greatest Hits on VH-1 with Tori and I'm not sure if it was a repetition or not. Tori sat on a couch and introduced her songs, which were: Spark, Past the Mission, Caught a light sneeze, God, Winter, Crucify, China, Silent all these years and Raspberry swirl. And in additon to every song she told a little story, like how she enjoyed to work with Cindy Palmano, because she knows her so well and she could open herself to her. And that she is not sure, if she would do the "God" video again, because the hundred rats peed and (you know what) all over her and the snake that came afterwards thought she's a big rat and started to choke her and she had to put on stuff from the crew members (like Old Spice) and she smelled like she was on a cheap Saturday date. And her favorite video is Past the mission, because her mother was there with her in Spain and she loved to work with all these older strong women and she loved the scene where she was confronted with this priest and all the women laid down. And for Spark, she had a body double, but the double was not able to go in the cold water and she had to do it all by herself.

Here are more comments about this show from Christoph Viethen:

the Tori episode of Greatest Hits was indeed a rerun. I saw it first in 1998, around the time when Tori was on tour here in Europe.

Anyway, it's a really excellent interview with Tori where she tells quite a few interesting stories about the making of her videos. It's one of the best - if not *the* best - TV interview(s) with Tori that I've seen on a music TV channel here in Germany. Very insightful and - yes - very much fun to watch as well. Recommended! :-)

Comcast Cable Systems Broadcast Tori/Alanis Concert
April 8-9, 2000

Those areas of the U.S. which are served by Comcast Cable Systems were able to see the Tori/Alanis concert that was aired as a pay per view special last February 2000 for free during the weekend of April 8-9, 2000. However, they did not get to see the entire thing according to a post to the Dent forum by sapnakiwi. This broadcast included commercials and was shortened, and as a result some of the songs did not air. They cut out Silent All These Years and Professional Widow, as well as Waitress and Precious Things. Therefore it is still important to catch the pay per view showing if you have not done so yet.

Saturday Night Live Tori Parody Shown Again
April 1, 2000
The Saturday Night Live episode which included a parody of Tori aired again on NBC on April 1, 2000. To read about this parody, go to my TV/Radio Archive. The parody and others related to it caused quite a stir when it first aired on December 4, 1999.
