Taping Reports

Here is a report about the taping on April 17, 2003 from Jessie AKA DaturaRabbit, who was there in person:

The show was a great time. I got to CBS studios where they tape the show, about 9:30 in the morning. After the ritual frisk down and metal detection I waited in line with some great people, one adorable red head woman who was there to see Tori. We could hear Tori sound checking while we wiated. they went through "Taxi Ride" a number of times. We were let into the venue, and seated. Since I went alone, I asked if they could sit me somewhere near Tori. The guy (who was hot, his name was Jay, and we were dressed alike) said sure, and led me over to the other side where I could see the Whurley and Rhodes set up, and sat me on the first tier, on a corner seat, basically right in front of her. Can I tell you how much in Heaven I was?? It seems all the Tori fans were congregated in that particular corner.

So they start the show, and Wayne comes out, (he's such a nice funny guy), and talks to us about how the show will run, and surprise, Tori will be the first guest. Someone asked if she would get interviewed, and he said no, and there was a collection of "awwws" from the EWF section. Then I piped up and begged "Please?" and Wayne looked at me and smiled. I held my thumb and forefinger apart just slightly and said "Please, just a little?" and he smiled jokingly and said "I'm gonna throw my mike at you." It was hilarious. Then the production manager came by and told Wayne that ideed, there would be a small interview segment. He told us so, and there was a collective "Yay!" and applause from us. Most of the audience, who probably never heard of Tori looked on in bewilderment.

So Jon and Matt came on, and got settled, then she came out, and we went nuts. She wore the cutest little top with fringe, I thgink it was blue and white (I have absolutely no eye for clothes), and some jeans on. She did her trademark wave, and the band started playing. We cheered, and she launched into a great version of "Taxi Ride" (yay!) She looked radiant while she performed, and we made eye contact at least twice. I doubt she could have missed me, sitting in the wide open, and lip synching along. (Okay, I'm a geek, I know this.) *blushes*

The interview segment was about 5 minutes long. Tori talked about Tash being their new "Road Manager", and the whole Harry Potter movie debacle, about Tash stealing the DVD and when asked where she got it Tash replied "Magic." He asked her about living in England, and she made a cute comment along the lines of "I'm supposed to say I live here......(laughs)....I like to be close to my mom, and I have a place not far from her in Florida..." Wayne also talked about the sorta fairytale video, and how he loved it, and thought it was so very cool the way she was a foot, and Adrian Brody was the hand, and how it all came together. It looked like he was trying to figure it all out and so I blurted "A Sorta Fairytale" and Tori looked up and me and smiled again!

He called her one of the sexiest women in rock and rool. We applauded and cheered in agreement.

He mentioned the video looked very steamy, to which she replied "Well, he's a great actor, and I'm very married."

All in all, it was a great time to be had by all. The crowd warmer told me that Tori's segement will be broadcast the 25th of April, so just consult your TV guide for times and days, cause that's like the third time it has changed as far as info goes. I'm off to a blissful day. See you Toriphiles at the Saturday show in Anahiem! I'm SOOOOOO excited to go! (Much love to Mel for my ticket! LUV YA!)
