RAINN will be implementing 'Get Carded Day' on Tuesday, September 23, 2003. Volunteers from RAINN member centers, campus groups, and supporters will be distributing 500,000 wallet-sized cards with information about the National Sexual Assault hotline, in addition to tips on how to reduce your risk of sexual assault and what to do if you are sexually assaulted on campuses all over the country. RAINN is trying to get various organizations and individuals on college campuses involved as well. Basically, they are asking for people to commit to distributing a certain number of cards on their campus.

Get Carded Day
Mark your calendar for September 23rd, 2003

What: On Get Carded Day, hundreds of volunteers across the US will distribute wallet cards and information about the National Sexual Assault Hotline to 500,000 college students.

When: Tuesday, September 23, 2003.

Where: More than 200 college campuses in 50 states.

How: Volunteers from RAINNπs local affiliates, campus groups, and corporate partners will distribute the information and answer questions from students. RAINN has nearly 1,100 local affiliates in 49 states and DC.

Why: People age 16-24 are three-times more at risk of being sexually assaulted than any other group. These young women and men need to know what they can do to reduce rape and about the free, confidential services available for victims through the National Sexual Assault Hotline.

Who: Get Carded Day is a project of RAINN, Americaπs largest anti-sexual assault organization. RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1.800.656.HOPE and operates programs to prevent rape and increase punishment of its perpetrators.
