From Matt Page:

Tori appeared on stage late this evening, and that likely was the main reason why she altered her written set list so much during this show and cut the show by 2 songs. After Barons Of Suburbia, Tori had planned to perform Garlands and then Juarez, but those were cut from the show. The first encore was supposed to be Beulah Land followed by Cooling. The second encore was supposed to be Cars And Guitars and then Cloud On My Tongue.

The show was very beautiful and soft. She said hello to the crowd after Little Amsterdam and said some other things that Matt did not recall. Then there was an improv before Carbon. The lyrics included "driving these roads...". She also did a little improv after messing up during Winter. At the end, she performed toast and clearly added some lyrics saying she would return sometime in 2007 or so.

From Melissa Christian:

This show was better than San Diego in the sense that: it was a better venue, not as many rude people (except the people sitting behind my mom and I kept chattering very LOUDLY throughout Tori's set). San Diego's show had a better set list, cause she played Here. In my Head and I died, twice - heeh. But tonight was very amazing all around.

(I'd also like to say I liked the Ditty Bops more this time, they're funny. Although I still missed most of their set, I only got to listen to about 4 songs again, eh it's cool)

The highlights for me tonight, setlist-wise were: A sorta fairytale, Carbon, Winter (LOVE when she messed up and her little improv was so cute about being out of her head, something like that, I'm sure someone will mention more of it here) Tonight's Little Earthquakes was the best version I've heard of that song EVER, ever ever! It was drop dead gorgeous. Her voice was perfect, clear and dreamy.

I was very impressed with her cover of "Black" I'm a pretty big Pearl Jam fan and she knocked that one out of the park, it was lovely. And I've been wanting to hear Nights in White Satin since I heard she was playing it live. I enjoyed it very much.

I have to say, I don't really like Cars and Guitars, but when she sings it live, it's very cute. And as far as The Beekeeper songs, I was happy that she played Jamaica Inn (one of my favs) Barons and Toast (During Toast, I FINALLY CRIED!!! Yay! I was getting worried I couldn't squeeze out a tear at a Tori show) Yeah, you guessed it, cause I won't shut up about it, that song reminds me of my father, it's very sad and beautiful. I loved how she said she'd see us again in 2007 though. Gees, that seems like a long time. During Winter, just before she forgot the 2nd verse, I was about to cry, then she screwed up and me and everyone else there were cracking up...HAHAH! Good Stuff.

She seemed really sad this was the last show of the tour. I am too. She's amazing. Next tour I'd like to make it to more than 2 shows :-)

From Jessie Cruz:

It is with a heavy heart we gathered to say goodbye to Tori's "Summer of Sin" tour in Los Angeles at the Greek. The show itself was a nice collection of somber goodbyes, and happy memories of shows past, including some welcome, and not so welcome surprises....

ORIGINAL SINSUALITY:

As usual, this was gorgeous, and actually a lot shorter than all the versions I've heard live. Still very beautiful.

LITTLE AMSTERDAM:

I got shivers with this. Somewhere in the upper level, I hoped my niece was bubbling with joy, this is one of her favorite songs, and I must say, I did enjoy this more than I thought I would.

A SORTA FAIRYTALE:

She welcomed us all, and mentioned something about a couple who met, married, and anulled, all within the time of the tour. She told us that she hoped our time with her on this journey was "less complicated!" She did a gorgeous "fariytale", I love hearing this solo. She did have a big screw up in the middle of the song, before the "ride alongside" section, where she visibly missed her cue, and kept playing, and improved a cute little side, then went right into "Ride alongside".

JAMAICA INN:

My friend Jolene and I are living this song these days, and I was so happy she was there to hear it live. I adore her so much, and this was just one of those songs you can bond over, and even though a lot of people don't care for it, I thought it was a real highlight for me.

CARBON:

She did a cute improv about driving in the streets, and if you saw someone with crazy red hair driving and flipping you off, that was her. She flipped us off lovingly (if such an action can be performed, she can perform it), and did a very nice, if not mellower version of Carbon.

WINTER:

I think this was the highlight for a lot of people. "Winter" began with a beautiful piano intro, and she got very much into the song. She did have an immense screw up during the second verse, but recovered beautifully. Right before "flowers competing for the sun" she just blanked out, and stared into the light and said "oh no" and she improved a little saying "that's what happens when you're tired and got no sleep, but we just keep, keep going", and she went into the verse, and when she got it right, we applauded her and her style of recovery.

GOD/RUNNING UP THAT HILL:

On the Rhodes, and I must say, I prefer this style and version the best out of all the times I've heard her do "God". Her delivery on "Running up that Hill" really makes this an essential version of the classic "God".

BLACK:

If I had to choose a song for her to cover (and I can't remember if I requested this or not on the website) this is it. I got into Pearl Jam and Tori about the same time, but I still prefer the "Jam" pre-"No Code", and this is my 2nd favorite song of theirs. She prefaced it by saying "I've never ever done this before", and I didn't recognize it until she started singing the lyrics, and I almost wet myself when I recognized that first verse. This was a masterful execution of the song, and this truly was the highlight of the show for me.

NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN:

I'm not a big fan of this song, but again, I have never heard her do it live before. After hearing it live, I have to say, it is much better than I thought it would be to hear live.

LITTLE EARTHQUAKES:

This one takes me back to my first Tori show in 99, with my friend Keith, who took me to my first concert, and this song completely reminded me of that night in Anaheim. I was happy he was there and able to hear it as well.

BARONS OF SUBURBIA:

My friend Sylvia told me that Tori soundchecked this, and I was happy to hear it at the show. She did the intro 3 times, first on piano/organ, next on organ, last on piano, almost as if she were trying to decide which one was going to sound better. It was a little subdued, (which, if she was tired, was explainable), but the ending still was as firey as ever.

PLAYBOY MOMMY:

This is the only time I was disappointed, as the setlist listed "Garlands" and "Juarez" as the next songs, but, being as tired as she was, I would have not heard half ass versions of these, and I imagine she would not have wanted to give us those, so she did a lovely "Playboy Mommy", which made me happy, because my niece Amanda likes that song, as "Choirgirl" was her first Tori album...

THE BEEKEEPER:

This again, was a little shorter, and much more linear and clearer than the other versions I've heard of it on this leg. The song finished, the stage rushed commenced, and the encores began.

CARS & GUITARS:

This was really a big surprise for me to hear, I didn't think she would do this one. I like it and was bouncing and grooving while she did her little "Chomp" section. This was really a nice little surprise, and again, Jolene was on my mind. I'm sure she was grooving too.

COOLING:

This was nice, as I haven't heard it very long time. It was as gorgeous, and pristine as one could ask for. She left and came back with one last sad goodbye...

TOAST:

She started to play "Toast", and told us that they were waiting to "pull her plug" because it was getting late (the Greek has an 11pm curfew) and that she wished that she could just play for us forever. We cheered and she wept, while playing a heartfelt "Toast" to us, and I could tell she meant every word, and knew that she would miss us as much as we missed her. At the end, instead of referencing Barcelona, she said "Maybe I'll see you, in 2007", and with a flourish and a wave, she thanked us and disappeared. They brought the lights up, and I sighed, knowing that it'll be a wait until I can experience that again.

Overall, it was a splendid show. I think of the 3 I saw this leg, the San Diego one was the best, but this was more emotionally stacked. I was only slightly disappointed when I got the setlist and saw "Garlands" and "Juarez" on there, but I still remained satisfied with the show. So thank you Tori, for giving us this tour, and for playing the most amazing version of "Black" that I could have ever asked for. To the Ears with Feet I encountered, thank you for making this leg a memorable one, and I'll see you all in 2007!

From Raven Rogers:

Well, I went to see Little Miss Tori @ The Greek Theatre Lastnight, this being my only show this tour. First off I'd like to say how wonderful & Blissful it was to see all my lovely friends. Even tho I was incognito, they still bombarded me with Autographs & Photographs (LOL), the highlight, John picking me up and swinging me around like it was nothing. I love that guy! and Robert yelling "Is that Raven Rogers" as he lifts his sexy sun glasses from his pretty blue eyes... when I was trying to keep in on the down-low. Haha.

I brought a "new comer" w/ me, trying to turn him onto Tori. He's a quiet Liberian @ the Los Feliz Library, just a few blocks down from the Greek. His first album he bought was "Tales from a Liberian" (rolls eyes, lol) even tho I insisted on her first 3!

Anyways, on to the show...

It was great to see Tori again, floating around stage like a little ghost in her white flowing gown.

Well, it seemed as if she knew I'd be there, seeing that Beulah Land was on the set list, even tho she didn't play it, I won't scold her this time. I was so F**king happy she did A Sorta Fairytale, oddly enough I really been into that song obsessively for the last 6 months or so, it has A LOT of meaning to me. So, thanks Tori. Oh by the way, the gorgeous full moon surrounded by trees, us all huddled in the forest to see Tori do her thing was so surreal. Brilliant!

Other highlights for me were Little Amsterdam, Winter(even tho she forgot the words, silly Tori), Cars & Guitars, Toast (love this song), Pearl Jam's BLACK!!!(OMG, I LOVE this song, that was for Angel, sorry honey-there's always the bootleg), I wanted to see her perform THE BEEKEEPER, so glad she did. I never knew the Nights & white Satan song that well, I never knew the lyrics, but they made me cry a bit in a sense. I could have died when she combined KATE BUSH'S "Running up that Hill" w/ her "God" because I ALWAYS thought those 2 songs go hand 'n' hand, Sooo, that was a real gem for me. Pretty good show, I've seen better, but Tor was probably tired. You know car pooling next week is tiring! Ha! :O) It was nice to see Mark(tori's hubbie) again and chat with him a bit. When I asked him "I bet you're tired and excited to go home", he nodded and smiled like a charming little boy! It was a refreshing change to go see friends after the show at a few different restaurants, seeing as I'm a "recluse" as John called me(and a few friends from here to Birmingham).

How Lovely. Great nite! Love my Tori world. :O) Thanks everybody.

From Tammy Gutierrez

I attended Tori's Sept 17th show @ the Greek Theatre as well as the meet and greet.

The meet & greet happened right before her sound check. Tori was running late and her people were rushing her, but despite that, she was in a good mood. Tori didn't sign anything, but chatted with people, posed for photos & gave LOTSA hugs!!! I recieved a hug as well and told her "Thanks for what you do Tori!" .

The show was great but sad. I loved it, mainly because it was my 10th show since 1996 (weak weak, I know!! in comparison to others that can follow her! )Little Amsterdam was beautiful, but my personal favorite of the night was God/Running up that Hill on the Rhodes. Mike, It gives me chills still!!! I love Kate Bush as well, and am anticipating her album Aerial(nov 8th). Anyway, The encores were short, but very sweet and full of tears. Tori was on the verge of crying herself at the end , but reassured us during Toast, that she might see us 2007.A very memorable night!! Just as memorable as my first (June 30th, 1996 @ the Greek )

From Ray Mercado:

The final show of the Summer of Sin Tour was a sad one. Any of the fans that were there I think were able to feel the sadness in the air. I know I did and it was obvious that Tori was also very emotional. Having stated this I still think the show was good in spite of the somber mood throughout. I was hoping that Tori would let loose a little more and deliver more energy on some of the tracks.

Original Sinsuality; I prefer the version from the first leg of the tour but I still enjoyed listening to it live.

Little Ambsterdam; She really slowed this one down, not my favorite live version.

A Sorta fairytale; I was very glad that she performed this one but I thought it was lowed down way too much.

Winter; I love this one but again I thought it was slowed down way too much.

Barons of Suburbia; This one was groovy and I loved it completely, when Tori grooves out on the Rhodes or the organs or what ever instruments she used other than the piano it seems like an inner child is at play, watching her play the organs was a real treat for me.

GOD; this one was great! The highlight of the show!

Black; this one rocked out!

Knights in white satin; this one is sweet.

The Beekeeper; I love this one live! This one has such a haunting fantastic fatalistic feeling live, we are mortals, "don't be confused one day I'll be coming for you"

Cooling was great live.

Toast was a perfect closing song very emotional and appropriate.

Chris from Massachusetts, It was nice hanging out with you during the meet and greet. Email me guysighh@hotmail.com

Until 2007.
