From Catherine Andrews:

The house lights finally went down a bit after 9pm and the crowd roared as Tori appeared from stage right. After a short impromptu she began with Original Sinsuality. Then came Amber Waves that made use of some stunning lighting. This was the first song where she switched from piano to organ and back again a couple of times, the transitions seamless, the crowd loving every minute of it. Beauty Queen / Hosres was a highlight. I was concerned that after hearing her more relaxed vocal style on The Beekeeper that she may have lost some of her vocal nuances that we were accustomed to. But after hearing these earlier songs off Pele sung so close to the original, I was proved wrong; her voice powerful and note perfect all night.

Contrary to reports from other nights, her performances tonight were not at all lacking tempo. Mother and Happy Phantom were as as energetic as I've ever heard. Mother Revolution was another song with Tori making use of both piano and organ, giving it a different and faster feel that went down well.

For the Piano Bar segment, Tori spoke about how the first song was for some special musicians, some that are still around and some that have passed on to the other side. With the first line of Crowded House's "Don't dream it's Over" everyone realized the reference was to the recent death of Crowded House drummer Paul Hester, who was from Melbourne.

The second half began with Tori moving over to the Fender Rhodes that was hidden in the dark, stage left. This had a great live feel to it that also had some stunning lighting. Parisol began on the organ and then had her playing the piano and organ back to back which was pretty cool to see. She seemed to be really getting into it. To see her doing the trademark sustain of vocal from one mike to the other is awesome. Cloud on my Tongue had an extended intro that she play high up on the keyboard ;again the rest was very true to the album. Marianne was another highlight. The Beekeeper was good but somehow lacked the intensity of the album. I understand that in the States she would play this on another organ that she didn't bring here.

After leaving the stage for a very short break, she returned to play Merman and Not the Red Baron which were well received. Returning for the last time, Tori started The Power of Orange Knickers only to stop about 4 bars in ,turning to the crowd and saying "Renee Zel-what- the-fuck?", then returning to start the song. Some mystery refernece to Renee Zellwegger I suppose. Silent all these Years was the last song and drew a roar from the crowd. I think everyone knew and loved this one. Great song to end a more than great show.
