"Amos is Like Honey"

As one of pop's most genuine and prolific eccentrics, Amos has sometimes her quirks to overshadow her more accessible gifts. On this CD, tunes with Amos-esque titles such as The Power of Orange Knickers and Martha's Foolish Ginger are subdivided into groups suggesting perfume fragrances and homeopathic remedies: "Desert Garden," "Elixirs and Herbs." Dig past the mystical trappings, though, and you will find the beguiling single Sleeps With Butterflies, the haunting Original Sinsuality and other vehicles for Amos' sweetly emotive singing and graceful musicianship. And even if some lyrics zip past your head, at least a few will touch your heart.
