dink was the first to tell me that you can read a review of The Beekeeper in the March 2005 issue of Interview Magazine (Hilary Swank on the cover).

Tori Amos
The Beekeeper (Epic)

Obsessive fans of melodramatic, flame-haired singer Tori Amos will have no shortage of lyrical lines to read between on this, her eighth album. Off-kilter titles like "Barons of Suburbia" and "The Power of Orange Knickers" (featuring Damien Rice) abound. Sonically, she's playful - making marching-band drums feel dreamy ("Martha's Foolish Ginger") and pianos sound raunchy ("Hoochie Woman"). But for all here forays into lighter fare, she's still her best when the music gets moody, as it does on the dark, complex melodies of the title track, which provide the perfect canvas for her rhapsodies on life and death. - Laura Young
