Only the atmosphere is left

by Robert Sankowski

Its a nice and warm album. But these words are not good for Tori Amos. The best songs in her carreer, although they had their own special atmosphere, were also pulsing by real, unhidden emotions. On this album only the atmosphere is left. The Beekeeper beginns very inryguish (excellent) with Parasol and Sweet the Sting. Tori's voice sounds very sexy, even seductively. But thats all. Tori doesnt keep the promises. Our hearts beats faster only few times for whole album. Maybe for "Witness", that has surprising rythm? Maybe for title track, riched up with hounting electronic? But thats all. The songs on this album are good, its lovely to listen to them and lovely to be surprised by many melodic refrains. but they dont stick in our memory for longer. No chance to find another "Cornflake Girl" or "Past The Mission" here.
