From Danica Knox:
Danica called me after the show and said the concert tonight was fantastic. Tori had great energy, especially during the encores. Tori followed her written set list almost exactly, except she sang Tear In Your Hand instead of Northern Lad, which was on the written set list.
At some point in the show Tori did a little improv about going to the VH1 Big In 2002 Awards one day earlier. The song included these lyrics, "I did the weirdest thing, I went to the VH1 awards. People wore a lot of makeup, enough to feed the world. People asked me if I were going to the after-show parties." Tori then whispered "Oh My God".
From Ann (Kai):
This show was so amazing.
She started Wampum Prayer at 8:50 pm MST.
A Sorta Fairytale
Little Earthquakes. This song has a great deal of meaning to me. The "give me life, give me pain, give me myself again" was my mantra for a while.
Tori danced at the piano bench
Pancake. After "on a benzodiazapene" she rubbed her stomach with her right hand.
Tori talks to us:
"Hey everybody, how's it going? We love coming here! I get oxygen!"
Someone from the audience shouted "I love you"
Tori said, "Love you back."
Horses
Sweet Sangria
Sugar
Playboy Mommy. At the end, she cradled her arms. Very touching.
Wednesday
The band leave. Tori says, "It's just us now. So, I did the weirdest thing last night. Guess what I did? What could be the weirdest thing I could do?"
Someone shouted something out. She said, "Think?"
Tori said, "Go the VH1 Awards"
She starts to play the improv and sings:
"How strange is that thing?
You got people posing
You've got so much makeup
We could feed the world
And we're just talking about only one girl
- (I missed this line) -
Everyone says, "'T, you going to the party?' Oh God
Get me out of this world
I'm going back to Denver"
end improv
Winter (solo)
Carbon (solo)!!! I got so excited, I called Mikewhy and let him listen over my cell phone.
Twinkle (solo)
boys come back
Your Cloud. Tori had a huge grin at one point during the song.
Take to the Sky. A few clapping, but stopped when she started to sing. She kept hitting the piano during the "appropriate" parts. I wonder if she's trying to encourage people to clap?
Liquid Diamonds. Amazing!! I called Mikewhy again!
Tori danced at the piano bench. Put on lipstick or lipgloss.
Taxi Ride
Precious Things. This is the absolute best version of this song I have ever heard!!
I can't See New York. I found it very moving. During the song, there was a pitter-patter noise, like a microphone going out. Did anyone else hear it? Was that meant to be part of the song (I didn't think so).
Spring Haze. As soon as it starts playing, Joel leaves the side of the stage and moves to the front to talk to security. The venue security moved to about 14th - 15th row, put a chair in the middle of the aisle to keep the whole venue from rushing.
Tori and the band leave after Spring Haze. The crowd rushes the stage.
Encore 1:
Cornflake Girl. Rocking. A lot of fun.
Tear in Your Hand. During the "wave goodbye" part, some of us up front started to wave, and Tori smiled and waved back. It was cute.
Left stage.
Encore 2:
Space Dog. No Navy lyrics, although Tori saluted during the song.
She whispered something and said "Mexico." Anyone hear the whole thing?
Hey Jupiter (Dakota version). It was beautiful.
Tori was so on tonight. She seemed really happy. She was happy at the meet and greet, so we thought it would be a good show. She seemed like she enjoyed herself and the show.
It was a fantastic time. I'm so glad I was there! The audience was really great.
FYI, I was 6th row, seat 1, section BB (center floor).
From Mrs. Peterson:
I had heard from someone at a pre-show dinner that Tori said at the m&g that she had something up her sleeve. I tend to think they meant Carbon.
The whole show was wonderful. I was far away so I couldn't see her very well, but from what I could see Tori was very energetic and into the show. My favorite song of the evening had to be Precious Things! She rocked my booty. Tori did quite a bit of shaking her own booty too! :) I noticed that during a few songs she would stop and then repeat lyrics in place of other lyrics. It was such an amazing show. It was my friends first, and I think she'll be hooked after last night. :)
I heard the clicking noise too, about 4 times. I think it was a mic issue. Where we were sitting the acoustics were terrible, but you could hear everything. I was in section 19,row 19, seat 19. In case it matters.
Side note, merch is kind of expensive in my opinion. Lots of shirts to choose from though!
From miss kate:
she said something VERY close to :
"after this i am going to New Mexico."
:)
