VH1 Rock Stars Encyclopedia

Updated April 5, 2000

I must thank Dave Louie for this information. There is a book on the market called the VH1 Rock Stars Encyclopedia, published by DK (a big UK publisher). You can find it listed at amazon.com. It lists a huge number of artists and includes a timeline/discography on each one. The book's Tori Amos section mentions 4 songs that do not sound familiar at all. The listings were as follows:

  • 9/3/94 - "Only Saw Today" coupled with her cover version of John Lennon's "Instant Karma" bows at its UK #48 peak.
  • 3/1/95 - "Let Love Shine" enters at its #31 UK peak.
  • 10/7/95 - "Church of Freedom" charts for a week at UK #54.

This of course is an error on the part of this book. If you check out the DJ Rhythms Dance Music Database, you will find these songs listed under an artist name Amos, who is distinct from Tori Amos. So I wanted to to alert you about this in case you see this and think there are Tori songs out there we don't know about!
