ALANIS MORISSETTE AND TORI AMOS
TEAM FOR MP3.COM AND BEST BUY-SPONSORED
"5 1/2 WEEKS TOUR" OF NORTH AMERICA THIS SUMMER

ALANIS MORISSETTE and TORI AMOS--two of rock's most compelling figures--will join forces this summer for the "5 1/2 Weeks Tour," a major North American trek of indoor and outdoor venues. Kicking off August 18 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the tour will encompass 26 shows and conclude September 25 in Irvine, CA. The tour is being co-sponsored by MP3.COM and Best Buy. Details of the alignment with MP3.COM--one of the leaders in the online music community--will be announced at a press conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 27.

Known as uncompromising and highly individualistic singers, songwriters, musicians and performers, MORISSETTE and AMOS decided to tour together because of their respect for each other's music and vision.

Says MORISSETTE, "When I was still living in Canada, I remember listening to Little Earthquakes and feeling heartened and inspired by Tori's courage and unapologetic honesty. She was like a breath of fresh courageous air. I look forward to playing with a woman whom I will be touched by nightly on a musical, intellectual, spiritual and emotional level."

AMOS says, "Bringing two visions together to make one show can be tricky, so obviously, it takes a lot of mutual respect and a load of gear. With that in mind, Alanis and I are bringing two trucks just for ourselves: one filled with wine, the other filled with lip gloss."

MP3.COM Founder & Chairman Michael Robertson says, "MP3.COM's partnership with Alanis Morissette, Atlas/Third Rail, Tori Amos, Spivak Entertainment and Best Buy represents a coming together of creative talent, net marketing and traditional retail. This union will better serve artists and music enthusiasts alike, creating an expanded market with unprecedented growth for both online and offline constituencies."

Gary Arnold, Senior VP/Merchandising at Best Buy says, "We at Best Buy believe our retailing is at the crossroads of technology and life--and we embrace it rather than fear it. We look forward to technology enhancing people's lives and bringing them closer together. We are proud to be a part of this ground-breaking tour and see it as part of Best Buy's continuing commitment to forging a clear pathway between the artist and the consumer."

ALANIS is presently touring the world in connection with her precedent-setting and critically acclaimed SUPPOSED FORMER INFATUATION JUNKIE album on Maverick Recording Co. It has garnered triple platinum status in the U.S. and has sold over seven million copies worldwide. Recently, ALANIS won two Grammy Awards for her self-written song "Uninvited" from the CITY OF ANGELS soundtrack: "Best Female Rock Vocal Performance" and "Best Rock Song."

Since releasing her first solo album seven years ago, TORI AMOS has built one of the most fervent, dedicated followings in music today. With over eight million albums sold worldwide, the four-time Grammy Award nominee has embarked on a series of marathon tours, earning widespread critical and popular acclaim for her groundbreaking, passionate live performances. TORI spent nearly all of 1998 on the road in support of her fourth Atlantic album, FROM THE CHOIRGIRL HOTEL, marking her first-ever tour with a full band. This fall, Atlantic will release a new two-CD set from TORI, including one live CD recorded during the '98 tour and one CD of new studio material. AMOS is a founder of RAINN (the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network).
